Dr. Hamisi Masanja Malebo
Principal Research Scientist I, National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR)

Dr. Malebo received a Master’s in Natural Products Chemistry, and a Ph.D. in Medicinal Phytochemistry. Dr. Malebo’s current research is focused on developing chemotherapeutic agents for parasitic diseases including malaria, trypanosomiasis, leishmaniasis, lymphatic filariasis, and soil-transmitted helminths. Dr. Malebo will be completing a FIT2 sabbatical at the Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery (GRIDD) focused on high throughput compound screening and advanced techniques for extraction and identification of active ingredients from Tanzanian medicinal plants.
