WIPO Re:Search Annual Reports

WIPO Re:Search was an international public-private consortium co-led by BVGH and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Through the Consortium, BVGH catalyzed cross-sector, intellectual property-sharing R&D collaborations and capacity building fellowships to drive innovation for neglected tropical diseases, malaria, and tuberculosis.

2021

2019

Since 2011, BVGH has catalyzed 154 innovative IP-sharing collaborations – 54 are active, including 10 that are advancing critical solutions for neglected infectious diseases along the
product development pathway.  Read more.

2018

Since the Consortium’s launch in 2011, WIPO Re:Search has grown to 140 organizations across 40 countries and boasts a portfolio of 140 R&D collaborations focused on improving the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of NTDs, malaria, and TBRead more.

WIPO Re:Search has welcomed five new User and Provider Members as of July 2018. All five of these new Members meet our “targeted” recruitment criteria. Read more.

2017

In 2017 alone, we welcomed 27 new Members to the Consortium and established 14 collaborations, with several others under discussion. Thirty-five collaborations are currently ongoing, seven of which have met key development milestones. Read more.

BVGH’s 2017 partnering objective is to establish eight new targeted agreements and to provide alliance management support to ongoing collaborations. By the end of June 2017, BVGH had established seven new agreements. These agreements span six diseases, and involve ten Members from six different countries. 2016

Since WIPO Re:Search was launched in October 2011, we have surpassed expectations and reached numerous milestones: the first WIPO Re:Search collaboration was established in 2012; five researchers from Member organizations based in low- and middle-income countries participated in training sabbaticals in 2013. Read more.

BVGH’s 2016 partnering objective is to establish 12 new agreements between Members. By the end of June 2016, BVGH had established six agreements. These agreements span three diseases and involve 11 Members from five countries. BVGH has established 103 WIPO Re:Search collaborations to date. Read more.

2015

It is hard to believe that over four years have passed since WIPO
Re:Search was launched. Together, we have accomplished a great deal in a very short period of time. WIPO Re:Search was established to provide research organizations – including the world’s leading biopharmaceutical companies – with a platform through which they could share their intellectual property assets with malaria, tuberculosis, and neglected tropical disease (NTD) researchers to advance product development efforts. Read more.

BVGH’s 2015 partnering objective is to establish 20 new agreements between Members. By the end of June 2015,
BVGH had established 12 agreements. These agreements spanned four diseases and involved 17 Members from nine countries. BVGH has established 89 WIPO Re:Search collaborations to date. Read more.
