Côte d’Ivoire, also known as the Ivory Coast, is a country on the southern coast of West Africa. Since its independence from France in 1960, Côte d’Ivoire’s official language is French, although indigenous languages are widely used by inhabitants. The most prevalent cancers are liver, colorectal, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma for all genders; prostate and stomach cancer for men; and breast and cervical cancer for women.

In 2022, Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene (MSHP) launched its National Plan for the Fight Against Cancer, which prioritizes public-private partnerships, accessibility to diagnostic and treatment services, human resource development, and more.

Since formalizing a partnership with the MSHP in June 2017, the following hospitals are participating in the African Access Initiative: University Hospital Center (CHU) Cocody, CHU Treichville, and CHU Yopougon.
