Liver cancer patients in Africa have the lowest survival rates globally. Over 70% of liver cancer cases on the continent are attributed to hepatitis B and C virus infections, making many of these deaths preventable through vaccination and screening. In partnership with AAI hospitals in Nigeria, BVGH has developed evidence-based educational materials aimed at improving liver cancer and hepatitis awareness among the Nigerian public. These resources are designed to empower individuals with knowledge, encourage hepatitis vaccination and screening, and support the detection of liver cancers at earlier, more treatable stages.
We invite frontline healthcare workers, oncology specialists, community leaders, and other stakeholders across Africa to explore, download, and share these tools with their patients and communities.
